It is reported that Nicole Kidman told the Toronto Sun that Baz Luhrmann’s version of Alexander the Great will not be made now that Warner Bros. will release Oliver Stone’s Alexander on Nov 24.

Kidman, who was supposed to play Olympias in Luhrmann’s version said “No!” when asked if the director was going to go ahead with the much-delayed production.

In Stone’s film, Angelina Jolie plays Olympias to Colin Farrell’s Alexander. Leonardo DiCaprio was supposed to star as Alexander in Luhrmann’s project.

Maria Farmer, Luhrmann’s Australia-based representative said in July that the filmmaker was apparently still firming up plans for his next cinematic outing.

“Baz is currently in Europe working on the final draft of his script for Alexander the Great. When he completes that draft he will decide whether Alexander is the next film on his slate,” said Farmer.
