Julia Roberts will play the late British conservationist Joan Root, who was shot dead in Kenya last year.

Root was an award-winning wildlife documentary maker who was believed to have been murdered by anti-conservation activists.

"We are thrilled to be making a film about such a courageous, adventurous and passionate woman," Rober said of her role in the yet-untitled film.
