Producer Walter Parkes, who also wrote the screenplay for the 1983 John Badham techno-thriller Wargames, is returning to the sub-genre with an adaptation of the novel Daemon.

The book, by Daniel Suarez, is about an electronic game designer who dies and leaves behind a deadly legacy to combat mankind.

According to Variety, Parkes will co-write the adaptation with David DiGilio, who wrote and produced a short-lived 2007 TV series called Traveler.

Parkes also wrote the script for another techno-thriller (of sorts), Sneakers.
