Pop celebrities Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey have announced their sepration after three years of marriage.

"After three years of marriage, and careful thought and consideration, we have decided to part ways," an official satement read. "This is the mutual decision of two people with an enormous amount of respect and admiration for each other. We hope that you respect our privacy during this difficult time."

Rumours of a rift between Simpson and Lachey started last month, when Simpson arrived at her sister Ashlee's 21st brithday party without Lachey, and her wedding ring. They were also reportedly apart for their 3rd wedding anniversary on Oct 26 and Lachey's 32nd birthday on Nov 9. Simpson and Lachey had gotten married at a ceremony in Austin, Texas, attended by 350 guests. Lachey sang My Everything, a song written for his then-new bride.
