Young talents
The International Chinese New Talent Singing Championship 2005, organised by TVB8 in Hong Kong had contestants from China, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, United States and Holland.
The champion was Liu Wei, 19, from Shanghai, China. There were three representatives from Malaysia and one of them, Foo Chyong In, 21, from Johor, won in the Best Vocal category.
The show, which was aired live on Astro TVB8 (Astro Channel 33) was hosted by Derek Li, Quennie Chen and Paisley Hu, with guest artistes Miriam Yeung, Gigi Leung, Kelly Chan, May Day, Ronald Cheng, Coco Li, Stephen Gan, Hins Cheung and Fiona Sit.
