Andy Lau: Secret is out. |
Despite pulling out all the stops to keep the pictures under wraps before the film’s release, the photos still managed to slip out of the filmmakers’ hands and reach media firms in the territory recently, according to Nanyang Siang Pau.
Said to be shaken by the incident, Lau has urged the media to refrain from using the pictures to prevent spoiling the show’s surprise element for the audience. A police report was made and a man has been identified as the suspect who breached tight security to capture the 43-year-old actor in his secret look before sending the snapshots out.
The newspaper report said that a special effects makeup artist from Hollywood (the same person who did Lau’s beefy appearance in the 2003 Running on Karma) was hired to “age” the star for his role in Tong Mong. During filming, Lau was also surrounded by security personnel to avoid exposure to his top secret image.
In the meantime, Lau, who has finished filming the movie, can only keep his fingers tightly crossed that no unscrupulous party would publish the confidential pictures.
Courting trouble?
SALLY Yeh, well known for her passion for badminton, is alleged to be taking her love for the game a little too far. The Yahoo! Hong Kong website said that the 43-year-old singer has become close to her 30-year-old badminton coach named Mike.
The rumours came about following news that Mike had put up at Yeh’s place in the United States not too long ago. Yeh currently resides in San Francisco, away from her fellow singer and golf-loving hubby George Lam.
The report added that Mike has also just broken up with his Taiwanese girlfriend.
When quizzed about it, Yeh conceded: “Yes, he stayed at my house. But so did my personal assistant!”
As to the reason for Mike’s breakup, Yeh retorted: “I don’t hold such power over him. These gossips are very damaging because Mike is still only a young man.”
Mike hit back by stressing that his split from his girlfriend was “entirely personal” and that he has no intention to pursue a married woman.
Lam, 57, who has been keeping a low profile, has yet to comment.

Stephen Fung: Met Kevin Spacey (inset). |
HONG Kong actor-turned-director Stephen Fung could hardly contain his joy after meeting Hollywood legend Kevin Spacey at the 58th International Cannes Film Festival in France earlier this month, Nanyang Siang Pau reported.
Spacey, an actor-cum-director who won a Best Actor Academy Award for his role in the 1999 American Beauty, was seen to engage in an animated conversation with an attentive Fung.
The 45-year-old Spacey apparently told his 30-year-old counterpart that “once you have directed a movie, you will hardly want to be an actor again.”
The two are said to have talked about a possible future collaboration.
When asked about his encounter with Spacey, Fung was beside himself with excitement. “Spacey has always been my idol,” he said. “I am very happy with our first meeting and I am glad that he regards me so highly. The feeling is pretty indescribable.
“As for our possible team-up, it’s still yet to be on paper but I would jump at the chance to work in Hollywood. We will see how it goes.”

Jolin Tsai: No foul-mouthed or foul-smelling guys for her. |
TAIWANESE popster Jolin Tsai has set her rules for potential dates: no swearing and no body odour.
In a recent article in China Press, Tsai, 25, said that she’s put off by men who curse.
“I find that men who swear have no charisma,” she remarked. “I will give him a chance if I don’t know him that well. But if he persists with using swear words, then it’s goodbye.”
As for guys with body odour, the pretty singer said she just does not fancy going out with a “garbage bin”.
“I think that a man who cares for his appearance is an indication of how well he would be able to take care of you,” she added.
Don’t say you have not been warned, guys!
