Violation of privacy

By MICHAEL CHEANG

Still recovering from an incident in 2005 when an unscrupulous reporter broke into her hotel room, Hong Kong artiste Gigi Leung was shocked to hear that an avid fan had sneaked into her hotel room in China, and had even bragged about it online.

According to a report in China Press this week the fan boasted about sleeping on Leung’s bed and even posted pictures as proof.

“That is so creepy!” remarked Leung when she found out about the incident, before dismissing it as a harmless prank.

Nevertheless, it was not the first of its kind that she had encountered while visiting mainland China. “Once, I woke up in the morning and saw a hotel employee in my room staring at me. I was so shocked at the time, and I had no idea how she got in, or how long she had been there,” she recalled.

Dedicated Eason

Hong Kong actor-singer Eason Chan is certainly dedicated to his job. Despite still recovering from a cold and a stomach viral infection, he turned up at the set of his new movie, Ah Miao De Shi Nian (working title).

According to the report on takungpao.com this week, the actor managed to get the scene done despite being stricken with bouts of diarrhoea and vomiting throughout the shoot.

He even had to take a break to see the doctor at one point, but returned gamely to work immediately after that.

Now that’s dedication for you.

Faye’s break

Don't count on the reclusive diva, Faye Wong, returning to the limelight anytime soon.

Renowned lyricist Ling Xi, who has collaborated with Wong on several occasions and is one of her most trusted friends, said in a recent report in China Press: ‘‘I don’t think she will be making anymore records.”

Ling Xi added that ever since marrying Chinese actor Li Yapeng in 2005, and giving birth to her second daughter last year, Wong has been content to just focus on her family.

However, Ling still harbours hopes that Wong will one day return to show business. “I can only speak of her present plans. Who knows, she might just make a comeback in the future,” he said.
