Geeks and chic
By Geraldine Jeremiah
IN Hollywood it is all about looking good. However, with the recent flood of geek-heavy shows on TV, the trend has dramatically shifted. As scripts call for more socially maladjusted characters to take to the screen, a surprising number of hunks have answered the call.
You wouldn’t necessarily notice from the roles they play (because they embody geek so well) but Galaxie has uncovered, and identified, four heartthrobs who have downplayed their looks beneath thick-rimmed glasses and pocket protectors for the sake of their art.
Lee Pace (Pushing Daises), Matthew Gray Gubler (Criminal Minds), Christopher Gorham (Ugly Betty) and Zachary Levi (Chuck) are featured on the cover of Galaxie’s July 1 issue as they normally appear on TV but inside, Galaxie reveals the hunky truth behind these stars. But, the men are not the only ones playing it dowdy! To find out which Hollywood chicks play geeks in the July 1 cover special, get your copy of Galaxie, which is available at a newsstand near you.
Also featured in the celebrity-laden pages of the mag is the introduction of James McAvoy as a new action hero. This serious actor who gained acclaim with his stellar performances in The Last King of Scotland and Atonement exercises his right to bare arms in his latest movie, Wanted. Besides taking on the bad guys in this high-octane film, McAvoy shares an onscreen kiss with Angelina Jolie, where McAvoy reveals his thoughts on locking lips with the stunning actress.
For all the latest in celebrity entertainment and a salute to the best lookers and trend shakers in the biz, Galaxie has it all and does it all – like rubbing shoulders with Kate Beckinsale, gate crashing Brangelina’s new luxury pad and unveiling the naughty secrets behind Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer’s romance. And if you can’t wait a fortnight for celebrity entertainment news, then do visit www.galaxieblog.com.my for a daily dish on the stars.
