Time to rock out
Kasabian and All American Rejects among the big names for MTV World Stage in Malaysia.
MALAYSIA is set to rock once again. Acclaimed British rock outfit Kasabian, Oklahoma-raised pop-punk band All American Rejects and local modern rock act Estranged have been confirmed to appear at the MTV World Stage event at Sunway Lagoon Resort in Selangor on Aug 15, starting 6pm.
Lead vocalist Tyson Ritter of The All-American Rejects.-REUTERS The outdoor concert event, organised by MTV, will feature live performances from Kasabian, which marks the band's first live appearance in South East Asia, as well as the popular All American Rejects, among others.
MTV World Stage “Live in Malaysia” will be staged in front of a live audience of about 15,000.
MTV World Stage is a global series that brings multi-genre talents with global relevance to an audience in over 550 million households. The show in Malaysia is presented by Xpax and MTV Credit Card from Hong Leong Bank.
“It’s going to be the first time we’ve ever played a gig in Malaysia and we are really looking forward to the opportunity to play for our Asian fans at the MTV World Stage event. The fans can expect a fantastic show,” said Sergio Pizzorno, vocal and guitarist of Kasabian.
Kasabian Platinum-selling US band All-American Rejects will also feature in MTV World Stage, performing on the custom-built stage at Sunway Lagoon.
Not to be overshadowed, fans of local music can also expect a solid performance from Estranged, one of the nation's top bands.
Music fans can be part of MTV World Stage “Live In Malaysia” by taking part in local on-the-ground events offering VIP passes to the event. MTV will host this special event at the Curve, Mutiara Damansara in Petaling Jaya, Selangor from Aug 1-2 between noon to 7pm. Along with games and collectible premiums giveaways, auditions will also be held offering the wildest, loudest and most passionate music fan the chance to gain access into the most coveted spot at MTV World Stage “Live In Malaysia” – the Mosh Pit!
Concert passes are also up for grabs at worldstage.mtvasia.com from today until Aug 7.
